Janicki Industries is known for tackling some of the most complex engineering and manufacturing challenges in the aerospace, defense, space, and industrial sectors. Our teams design and build large‑scale, high‑precision tooling and composite structures that push the boundaries of what’s possible. We’re looking for a Security Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment and wants to contribute directly to the creation of world‑class aerospace tooling.
This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State
Position Overview
Janicki is seeking a Security Infrastructure Engineer who thrives at the intersection of hands‑on engineering, secure architecture, and compliance-driven environments. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain the security controls that protect Janicki’s enterprise and production systems; systems that support advanced manufacturing, aerospace innovation, and mission‑critical government programs.
You will collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure our infrastructure is secure, resilient, and aligned with CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800‑171) and other DoD cybersecurity requirements. This position is ideal for a security engineer who enjoys building practical, measurable, and audit‑ready security solutions that stand up to real‑world production demands.
If you want to make a direct impact on national‑level programs while working in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment, this role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful security improvements and shape the future of Janicki’s security posture.
Core Technical Responsibilities
· Implement and maintain NIST SP 800‑171 infrastructure controls, including configuration baselines, validation outputs, and technical documentation required for CMMC assessments.
· Support government‑related system requirements, including RMF‑aligned control intent, audit readiness, and evidence generation.
· Engineer secure identity and access patterns for enterprise and production environments, including privileged access protections, secure administrative access, and least‑privilege enforcement.
· Design and maintain secure network and infrastructure connectivity, including segmentation boundaries, secure remote access, and controlled communication paths for sensitive systems.
· Enhance security monitoring and log visibility by implementing infrastructure‑relevant logging, alerting, and evidence‑ready monitoring capabilities.
· Perform vulnerability management and remediation validation, coordinating with system owners to close gaps and document proof of remediation.
· Support endpoint security, patch management, system hardening, and secure configuration enforcement across sensitive environments.
· Develop automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python preferred) to streamline validation, reporting, and evidence collection workflows.
· Support Azure‑based security services, including identity governance, monitoring, and hybrid‑environment security posture visibility.
· Leverage AI‑enabled security capabilities to improve triage, investigation efficiency, and operational reporting while ensuring outputs remain audit‑defensible.
· Collaborate with governance and compliance teams to support assessments, readiness reviews, and audit engagements with technical evidence and control validation.
· Partner with system owners and engineering teams to embed security into deployments, change processes, and system improvements.
· Work effectively under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain reliable attendance.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with an Associates degree in cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or related field; or 3 years and a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
· Experience in infrastructure engineering, security engineering, or cybersecurity operations with demonstrated responsibility implementing security controls in enterprise environments
· Working knowledge of NIST SP 800‑171, DFARS 252.204‑7012, and CMMC Level 2 requirements.
· Experience supporting government‑related systems and compliance‑driven environments (e.g., RMF‑aligned activities, assessment support, evidence readiness).
· Experience with Azure identity, access control, monitoring, and hybrid security operations.
· Proficiency with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python preferred) for security validation and evidence generation.
· Experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response support, including log analysis and remediation tracking.
· Strong understanding of access control, secure configuration baselines, system hardening, and secure administrative access patterns.
· Active DoD 8140 certification (e.g., Security+) or ability to obtain and maintain.
· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
· Willingness to participate in a week‑long on‑call rotation.
· Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
· This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or related field.
· Minimum of 3 additional years of experience, especially in security engineering roles supporting regulated or government environments.
· Experience with CMMC assessment preparation, evidence collection workflows, or audit‑facing technical roles.
· Hands‑on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration management tools, or automated compliance validation.
· Familiarity with AI‑driven security tools, SIEM tuning, or advanced detection engineering.
· Additional certifications such as CASP+, CySA+, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or GIAC.
