Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The Cybersecurity Engineer will hold a pivotol role in fortifying digital assets against a spectrum of cyber threats. Responsibilites will span from proactive threat hunting to post-incident digital forensics, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The applicant will orchestrate the development of security policies, oversee security operations, and architect security solutions to safeguard our technological infrastructure.


The following essential job functions are performed as a Cybersecurity Engineer:

  • Oversee security operation activities, including monitoring security alerts, analyzing security events, and coordinating incident response efforts to mitigate threats effectively
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of security architecture and engineering solutions, leveraging industry best practices and innovative technologies to enhance our overall security posture
  • Manage patch management processes to ensure timely deployment of security patches and updates across all systems and applications, reducing exposure to known vulnerabilities
  • Implement and manage continuous monitoring solutions to detect and respond to security threats in real-time, enhancing our ability to identify and mitigate emerging threats promptly
  • Oversee identity and access management processes, ensuring proper authentication, authorization, and access controls are in place to protect sensitive data and resources
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, guiding the organization through compliance requirements and driving initiatives to maintain adherence
  • Lead digital forensics investigations to analyze security incidents, breaches, and intrusions, providing insights for incident response and legal proceedings when necessary
  • Lead the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, including security operations, incident response, risk management, policy development, threat hunting, penetration testing, or digital forensics
  • Proficiency in utilizing cybersecurity tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and forensic analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts and best practices
  • Familiarity with network and system administration, including Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171
  • Maintain an active DoD 8140 security certification. Additional industry certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, or GIAC strongly desired
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members
  • Must be willing to participate in week-long on-call rotation
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $140,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
