Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Security Specialist to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Assist and support the Security Department with day-to-day interpretation, implementation, enforcement and execution of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), ICD, DoDM 5205.07, NBIS and DISS ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, DoD and customer laws, directives, regulations and policies.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Security Specialist:

Primary role:  Industrial Security Specialist.

  • Conduct and participate in inspections (internal and external). Implement necessary actions to correct deficiencies. Communicate with Government agencies to maintain compliance with applicable regulations
  • Conduct security violation inquiries and investigations to assure potential compromises are thoroughly evaluated and reported, as required
  • Provide facility alarm response when required
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DoD and customer mandated security measures/controls for all secured SAP spaces
  • Monitor and maintain the Visitor Control Program

 Secondary role:  Personnel Security Specialist.

  • Review security clearance applications for accuracy, completeness and submission via eApp, and provide guidance and instruction to employees as necessary to ensure proper completion
  • Maintain security documentation and files in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Conduct Security indoctrination briefings, debriefings, annual refresher briefings, and all other briefings as required
  • Perform NBIS and DISS duties to include (but is not limited to) initiating/tracking security clearance investigations, reporting adverse information/incident reports, initiating visit certification requests, etc.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and oversight of the security education program

 Collateral duties:  Act as an Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) following program access.

  • Assist program team with secure production area access control and integrity
  • Provide safeguarding and handling assistance of classified and CUI material
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desired in lieu of significant experience in Personnel/Industrial Security field. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred previous Security Specialist experience, particularly in industrial security and special access program compliance, and the processing and administration of personnel security clearances
  • Basic knowledge of DISS, NBIS and eAPP
  • Preferred familiarity with 32 CFR part 117 (NISPOM), DoDM 5205.07 and applicable directives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance with T3 or equivalent investigation within the last 5 years; will be subject to government security investigation/reinvestigation as necessary
  • Must meet additional eligibility requirements for accessing classified information as required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $95,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
