Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provides administrative support for the Human Resources Department.  Supports the company’s principles, values, and vision by providing service to the owners, managers, and employees.  This includes, but is not limited to assisting ownership and management with solutions to workplace issues and properly balancing the needs of the employee; communicating the company’s policies, rules, and procedures while maintaining compliance with employment labor laws.  

The following essential job functions are performed as a Human Resources Assistant :

  • Answers and route incoming telephone calls
  • Greets customers and visitors, checking them into the company’s Visitor Registration Portal
  • Distributes daily mail using company documents to locate individuals, sends letters via USPS
  • Handles confidential documents and information
  • Prepares all packets necessary for New Hire paperwork and New Hire Orientation.
  • Issues/replaces employee, vendor/contractor and program identification badges
  • Maintains all necessary supplies needed for badging system
  • Provides employment verification for outside businesses
  • Maintains office environment by completing such tasks as filing, copying, faxing documentation, etc.  
  • Assists with onboarding process: reviews personnel file documents with new hires, explaining critical information and ensuring receipt of necessary signatures; assists in taking and downloading pictures of employees for system and ID badges
  • Responds occasionally to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, etc., referring them to the VP of HR or HR Generalists to investigate
  • Handles employees’ requests within means and use of common sense
  • Submits address changes to all necessary and applicable sites (i.e.: SAP, Saturna, BCC)
  • Maintains office supplies and ordering and refilling as necessary
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as they pertain to position
  • Assists with clerical functions as necessary
  • Assist with recruitment process, including scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates and preparing interview materials
  • Support benefits administration process including open enrollment.
  • Generate HR related reports (i.e., attendance, turnover, recruitment)
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in office setting utilizing receptionist skills and clerical skills. Knowledge of HR Law, policies and principles strongly desired
  • Must be able to use a variety of computer programs such as: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. 
  • Must be able to work well both independently and in a group 
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $22 - $32 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
