Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for an EHS Manager to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The EHS Site Manager collaborates closely with the EHS team to foster a proactive and positive safety culture across Janicki Industries. This role engages with employees at all levels of the organization, promoting adherence to internal policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities include identifying workplace hazards, implementing preventative measures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The EHS Site Manager leads safety training initiatives, conducts audits, and maintains clear communication with leadership and staff to drive continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety protocols. This role is integral to creating a safe, sustainable, and compliant work environment while embodying Janicki’s commitment to employee well-being and operational excellence.

The following essential job functions are performed as an EHS Site Manager:

  • Ensures full compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety regulations in collaboration with operations teams
  • Works closely with operations management to effectively oversee safety at Janicki
  • Monitors processes for adherence to OSHA and L&I guidelines
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, and communicates findings to senior management
  • Oversee hazardous waste activities and accumulation areas to ensure compliance
  • Audits and evaluates compliance with stormwater and air quality permits
  • Continuously enhances JI's safety programs
  • Reviews workplace safety incident report and leads team-based investigations
  • Conducts root cause analyses of EHS-related incidents, assigns corrective actions, and tracks progress
  • Promotes EHS awareness through internal communications and training
  • Manages relationships with workers' compensation providers, medical resources, and employees 
  • Provides support for safety programs such as Energy Control, Fall Protection, Ergonomics,
  • Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and Crane/Forklift Operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may substitute for education requirements
  •  4+ years of relevant experience in EHS management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction setting
  • Hands-on experience with ergonomics, claims management, and safety program implementation
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and L&I regulations and compliance standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using PLM systems (e.g., SAP/ECTR) is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret data, prepare reports, and make informed decisions
  • Proven ability to conduct audits, root cause analyses, and manage corrective actions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Effective decision-making and interpersonal skills, able to communicate professionally at all organizational levels and with external contacts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and able to quickly adapt to new systems
  • Self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Team player with the ability to contribute both independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility to work off or split shifts as needed
  • Valid driver’s license required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Salary range for this role is between $78,000 - $115,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
